Meet the Viva Dental Team

Our team at Viva Dental Victoria is comprised of a group of friendly and highly-skilled individuals all driven by the same mission - to provide you with the best dental care possible! Everyone in our practice, from our administrative team to our hygienists and dental assistants, is dedicated to providing high-quality dentistry in a comfortable, caring environment. We are committed to listening to your concerns and providing dental care that is appropriate for you. We want you to look forward to seeing the dentist!

Meet Dr. Craig Siemens

After years of general dentistry practice in Vancouver, Dr. Craig Siemens has returned to Victoria to embrace the relaxed island lifestyle. He is passionate about the art, science, and technology of dentistry. From routine fillings to aesthetic dentistry to more complex cases, Dr. Siemens' wealth of experience and training in all aspects of general dentistry ensures that his patients will receive an accurate diagnosis and high-quality treatment. He has a special interest in occlusion (the bite), dental sleep medicine (sleep apnea treatment), and the link between oral health and overall health.

Craig is a lifelong learner with university degrees in Marine Biology (BSc), Cancer Research/Anatomy (MSc) and finally Dentistry (DMD). He is continually upgrading his skills with recent courses in Dental Sleep Medicine, Root Canal Treatment and Dental Sedation, and past training in occlusion with the Kois Center, the Pankey Institute and the Dawson Academy.

Dr. Siemens lives in Victoria with his wife Eva. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors, travelling, painting, studying Spanish and gardening.

Meet Dr. Al-Mosuli

Since I was little, I've held a genuine fascination for the world of dentistry, a passion that I enthusiastically shared with my parents, who themselves come from a rich dental background. This early connection with dentistry laid the foundation for my lifelong commitment to the profession. I had the privilege of graduating from the esteemed University of British Columbia. This educational journey marked the commencement of my professional career, where I welcomed every opportunity as a challenge to advance my skill set.

Throughout my years in practice, I've remained dedicated to keeping up with modern and digital dentistry. I eagerly sought to expand my knowledge and expertise by actively participating in various study clubs and hands-on courses. This commitment to continuous learning enables me to provide my patients with cutting-edge, evidence-based care.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my practice is the interaction with my patients. I take great pride in ensuring that every individual receives the excellent care and attention they deserve. Working with children is a delightful aspect of my practice as well. Their vibrant energy and enthusiasm never fail to brighten my day.

My experience in the field of dentistry spans a wide range of expertise. I have cultivated a particular passion for cosmetic and functional dentistry, where I excel in enhancing both the aesthetic appeal and functionality of a patient's smile. Additionally, I offer specialized services such as neuromodulator therapy (Botox) addressing clenching , headaches, and upper face cosmetic enhancements.

Outside of the clinic, you might catch me strolling along the sandy shores, cruising on my bike, or crafting yet another whimsical ceramic mug.

Our Dental Assistants

Our dental assistants are not just a second pair of hands for the dentist! They are highly trained, caring individuals familiar with the latest technology and the sterilization techniques that keep us safe. They will be at your side throughout your visits to help you understand your oral health and provide reassurance and encouragement. Their goal is to make your visit as efficient and stress-free as possible!

Alejandra

Certified Dental Assistant / Clinical Coordinator

Originally from Bogotá, Columbia, Alejandra has worked in the dental field as a Certified Dental Assistant and Clinical Director for over 20 years. Prior to dentistry, she received a Bachelor degree and worked in Textile and Fashion Design.

Alejandra is a caring, compassionate person who enjoys providing her patients with the best care possible. Her many skills, including dental assisting, instrument sterilization, digital scanning, radiography, keep our clinic running smoothly, safely and efficiently. Alejandra is passionate about dentistry and strives to continuously educate herself to maintain her skills.

Outside of the office, Alejandra enjoys the outdoors, hiking, dining, salsa dancing, studying Italian, spinning, running, or simply enjoying a nice glass of wine by the fire.

Amy

Certified Dental Assistant

Born and raised in Victoria, Amy brings her passion for helping others to her role as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA). With six years of experience in the field, Amy's journey began as a Care Aide, where she discovered the fulfillment of making a difference in people's lives. Now, as a skilled CDA, she dedicates her days to patient care, assisting with dental procedures, sterilizing instruments, utilizing digital scanning technology, and capturing radiographs.

Amy has a genuine interest in getting to know her patients and ensuring their dental experience is comfortable and pleasant. Her calm and caring demeanour help create a relaxing environment for even the most apprehensive patients.

When Amy is not brightening smiles, she enjoys hiking, running, spinning, and yoga. She also appreciates taking time to herself to read and write. Her faithful companion, Bella, accompanies her on nature escapades.

Our Dental Hygienists

Our dental hygienists are here to help you achieve and maintain a beautiful, healthy smile for life! Our highly trained and experienced hygienists main focus is on the diagnosis and prevention of periodontal (gum) disease. They will examine your mouth for signs of disease and provide you with the knowledge and tools you need to care your teeth and gums. They will teach you how your oral health affects your overall health and help you maintain a healthy smile for life!

Shannon

Dental Hygiene Practitioner

Born and raised in Ontario, Shannon moved to Victoria in 2017 with her military spouse and family. Prior to joining Viva Dental, Shannon provided clinical dental hygiene services as an independent contractor and worked as a dental hygiene educator in Ontario. Currently, she works part-time as a Dental Hygiene Practice Advisor with the British Columbia Dental Hygiene Association as well in our clinical practice.

With a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and 22 years of dental hygiene practice, Shannon has a wealth of knowledge to share with her patients. She has a calm, caring nature and a genuine passion for educating her patients to help them achieve optimal oral health.

In her spare time, she can be found spending time with family and friends, studying French or camping and being outdoors with her family and dog Dakota.

Ashley

Registered Dental Hygienist

Ashley is the newest member of the Viva Dental hygiene team! Born and raised in the Comox Valley, Ashley graduated with honours from Vancouver Island University with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene.

Ashley has a compassionate nature and strives to make every dental visit a comfortable and positive experience. Ashley is committed to helping her patients achieve optimal oral health and believes that a healthy smile is a gateway to overall well-being.

Outside of the dental practice, Ashley enjoys exploring nature and spending time with friends. Whether it's a trip to the beach or going for a cup of coffee and a walk, Ashley finds joy in connecting with friends and being outdoors.

Our Administrative Team

Our friendly and professional administrative team is here to provide you with customer service that makes you smile! They have a comprehensive knowledge of dental insurance plan carriers and will help you understand your dental treatment, dental insurance and finances. They will manage your appointment schedule and lend a personal touch to every visit!

Élissa

Administrative Coordinator

Born and raised in Montreal, Élissa relocated to beautiful British Columbia in 2017. She now calls Victoria her forever home. Her passion for health and helping people led her to pursue a career in the dental field since 2019.

As Office Administrator and “Director of First Impressions,” Élissa’s warm and caring nature will make you feel at home at Viva Dental. With her diverse knowledge of dental care, she will assist you with appointment coordination, financial considerations, and insurance related matters.

Élissa received training in phytotherapy and is a certified yoga instructor. When out of the office, Élissa enjoys spending time in nature, practicing yoga in the sun, writing, drawing, painting, as well as cooking for loved ones.

Tatiana

Administrative Cooridinator

Originally from Kyrgyzstan, Tatiana now calls Victoria her home. With a Masters degree in Business Administration and experience in the hospitality industry, Tatiana has worked in high profile positions around the world.

Although relatively new to the dental field, Tatiana’s has embraced her new career. Her warm, friendly nature and administrative proficiency will welcome you to our office. Tatiana enjoys meeting new people and helping her patients with all their administrative needs.

Tatiana is also a trained yoga instructor and has a diploma in holistic massage and reflexology. In her spare time, Tatiana enjoys exploring the beauty of the mountains and ocean, cooking and dancing with family and friends, and practicing on the yoga mat.
